Welcome to Life is a Game. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites, mobile applications, and services (collectively, the "Services") provided by Life is a Game Ltd ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

2. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using any of our Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. These documents together form the complete agreement between you and Life is a Game Ltd.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use our Services. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian who has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

We reserve the right to request proof of age at any time and to suspend or terminate accounts where we reasonably believe the user does not meet the minimum age requirement.

4. User Accounts

To access certain features of our Services, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Keep your account credentials secure and confidential.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if any information provided proves to be inaccurate, misleading, or in violation of these Terms.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at ryan@lifeisagame.ai. Upon receiving your request, we will delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. We are working to add an in-app account deletion feature. Notifications

With your permission, we may send push notifications to your device, including progress reminders, motivational nudges, and important service updates. You can manage or disable notifications at any time through your device settings or in-app preferences.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

Some of our Services are available on a subscription basis. Subscriptions are managed and billed through third-party app stores (Apple App Store and Google Play Store). By purchasing a subscription:

• You agree to the pricing and payment terms presented at the time of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period.
• Cancellation, refunds, and billing disputes are handled by the respective app store in accordance with their policies.
• We may change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

Free trials, if offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand.

Free Tier

Certain features of the Services are available at no cost, subject to usage limits (such as a limited number of ladders, steps, and attempts per step). These limits may change at our discretion. Premium subscriptions remove these limits and unlock additional features such as AI-powered step breakdown.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited upon purchasing a subscription.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Services, other users' accounts, or our systems.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Services without our written permission.
• Transmit any harmful code, viruses, or malicious software.
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or organisation.
• Use the Services to provide medical, therapeutic, or clinical advice to others.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Services, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, software, and the overall design, are the exclusive property of Life is a Game Ltd or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use our Services for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

8. User Content

You may submit content through our Services, such as journal entries, responses, and other personal data ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and display it solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you.

We will never sell your User Content to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.

9. Third-Party Services

Our Services may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites, services, or content. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content or services. Your interactions with third-party services are governed by their respective terms and policies.

Our Services integrate with third-party AI providers (Google Gemini and OpenAI) to power content generation features. Your use of these features is also subject to the respective providers' terms of service. We transmit only the minimum data necessary to generate responses and do not permit these providers to use your data for model training.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

• The Services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
• We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
• We expressly disclaim all warranties relating to the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content provided through the Services.
• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services.
• Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet or infrastructure failures, or third-party service outages.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us.

Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law shall survive termination.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Services or by email. Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Life is a Game Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Services; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of a third party; or (d) any actions you take based on content, suggestions, or exercises provided through the Services.
